Mark Rothko touches me deeply. His paintings speak the unspeakable. Rothko was lost in the question: "what is beauty?"
A good place to be lost.

He lived a hard life.
Once fame and money came he was a cantakerous aging alcoholic. He killed himself in the bathroom of his 68th street home in New York City February 25, 1970.
